Models Unzipped: Coco Rocha

  • One of the most outspoken models of the modern day, Coco has openly expressed disgust for the anorexic image portrayed by the fashion industry.
  • Not only is she against the unhealthy body image the models are expected to uphold, She has also recently become the face of a 'NO PHOTOSHOP' campaign, to show the world the reality behind the airbrushed magazines.
  • She is of Irish, Russian and Welsh descent.
  • In the Jean Paul-Gaultier A/w 2007 show, Coco irish-danced down the runway in the scottish-highland inspired creations. This was known as the 'Coco Moment' from then on as dubbed by American Vogue.
  • She has joined the new realm of supermodels, such as Agness Deyne, Lily Donaldson, Chanel Iman, Jessica Stam and Hilary Rohda.
  • She has been the face of numerous campaigns such as Chanel, Dior, D&G, Lanvin, YSL and Balenciaga.
  • She joined Alexa Chung and Olivia Palmero in showcasing her daily outfits on in 2010.
  • She is one of the few modern and true Supermodels of this day.

A Pin-up summer: 'A Brighter Shade of Pale'

Versace for H&M?

Due to hit our high-street in November this year, Donatella Versaces' Punky leather and urban edgy range - VERSACE FOR H&M.
It always strikes me as a bit of a contradiction when high-fashion designers try to make themselves accessible to an audience that usually would never be able to afford the items. If you go to H&M today you will find so many items for under £10, but what is the likelihood of ANY designer item being priced like that? The clothes are STILL going to be too expensive for the majority of H&M shoppers.
YES the clothes will be hot.
and YES I will want to buy them.
BUT just because they are being sold in a shop that my student budget can afford, does not make them accessible to me. But at least I will be able to try them on!!

Sexy stunning dancing lovelies in my favourite Vogue shoot this year so far!
Some Givenchy Haute Couture, Dior Haute Couture, Valentino Haute Couture - can't really go wrong there!
Photographs by the brilliant Patrick Demarchelier!

Its a little reminiscent of some of the Top Model shoots from the past - except better. The dancers truly celebrate the fluid nature of ballet and the extravagance, theatricality and glamour that has inspired Couture designers all over the world.
