I have always liked to think of fashion as a way of art. It is easy to detach the two concepts completely. If you look at them separately however, they both play important roles within modern culture. Fashion influences art and art influences fashion. That much can be seen through any high-fashion photographer's portfolio.
However, Adriana Bertini has taken her art to an almost...disturbing level in her condom dresses. Using quality rejections from factories, her dresses are on sale from $850 to $1500 online (Click HERE to check them out).
Styled for high fashion, Bertini's clothing has made an impact across the fashion world. When looking at the colourful pieces from a distance, they look quite pleasant, almost beautiful. It is when you look closer that you see the latex-clad mannequins and start to wonder about where the idea stemmed from!
However, bizzare as they may be, the dresses stemmed from Bertini's fight against HIV/Aids. She has spent the past 10 years creating these sculptures.
She stated: 'Condoms must be basic like a pair of jeans and so necessary like a great love.'
When you look at it like that, the dresses arnt so bad!
